Yercaud

Yercaud is situated at an altitude of 1,500 metres (4,920 feet), on the Shevaroy hills of the Eastern Ghats. The lofty hills are of extraordinary scenic beauty endowed with a salubrious climate. Although close (33-km) to the bustling industrial town of Salem, Yercaud has a spirited charm of its own. Yercaud is also called "Ooty of the poor" and is known for coffee plantations and Orange Groves. The highest point in Yercaud is Shevaroys temple, which is situated at a height of 5326 metres.
Namakkal

Namakkal is the headquarters of Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu. Cauvery River flows through the Namakkal district. Namakkal is also called as "Namagiri", which is the name of the rock formation at the center of the town. Namakkal is famous because of Sri Namagiri Thayar's merciness, the greatness of Lakshmi Narasimha's cave temple and the greatness of Lord Hanuman. These three popular temples are located around the Rockford.
Kolli Hills

Kolli Hills is a major mountain range and is an outliner of the Eastern Ghats. The name Kolli Malai refers to the mountain's once hostile nature; the unsuspecting and unacclamatised aliens, attracted by natural beauty. Akasa Gangai is an enchanting 300 feet waterfall of river Aiyaru, located near Arappaleeshwarar temple.
Thousands of steps lead down to the falls. The wilds of Kolli Hills are known for their medical herbs and plants. The vast expanse of forests of Kolli Hills boasts varieties of rare medical plants and these are regular sources for the preparation of indigenous Indian Medicines
Mettur

Mettur, meaning 'town with crests and troughs', obtained its name owing to the uneven rocky nature of the land that makes the town an ideal place for Stanly Reservoir. Stanley Reservoir is one of largest reservoirs in India and is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Its source of water is the River Cauvery (Kaveri). The Stanley Reservoir was completed in 1934. The dam, the park, the major hydroelectric power stations and hills on all sides make Mettur a good tourist attraction.
Hogenekkal

Hogenekkal has been a popular picnic as well as favorite shooting spot for many film scenes as well as songs. The gushing white waterfall and its scenic beauty have charmed people from all over and it’s always a delight to visit and frolic around this huge water body coupled with some magnificent rocks. The place derived its name from the water cascades that fall from a great height and resemble smoke. Thus the name Hogenekkal; which means? Hoge? Is smoke in Kannada and? Kal? is stone. So it basically means? Smoking rocks. The water spreads for miles around and on these waters tourists can cruise around on country made dinghies (boats).
